Worst ER visit of my life

Today when I was riding my electric scooter to work I got hit by a car. I was on the sidewalk and they were pulling out of an apartment alleyway. Thankfully when i landed I caught myself with my hands so my head didn’t fully hit the ground. (I always wear a helmet anyways) Although since i put my hand out I got a pretty big abrasion. My hip and knee on my left side were very swollen.

I have my boyfriend come and get me to go to the ER. We get checked in and as the first nurse is in there seeing me and tending to my hand wound she’s talking about how much she hates electric scooters. How so many people come into the ER for accidents riding a scooter and how people should just avoid riding them. I just am not so sure why she felt so comfortable saying that as if I wanted this accident to happen?

Just it gave me the ick my first big red flag being there. I wait for about an hour to be seen by a provider. Who just their tone in talking to me seemed like they were annoyed to be doing their job. I wait another half hour to actually get X-rays and then another half hour for the results. Thankfully nothing is broken and I’m just swollen and bruised on my leg.

I just never have been to and emergency department before where I feel like everyone there just hated their job. Like come on man I just a very bad morning and just wanted to make sure I didn’t break any bones 🥲
