Comic Doom, or an MCU original doom?

I dont believe for a second they aren't doing a Stark - Doom storyline. I know they've had rough patches in the MCU but I dont believe they would take THE FACE of the franchise, pay him a shitload of money for 2 movies and have him play a completely unrelated new character.

I just dont know how they would link the 2, and while I love RDJ, there were other amazing casting choices they could have gone with if hes supposed to be an unrelated character, and of course they also had >!the additional post credit scene of RDJ making the Doom mask in the cave!<.

I just hope its something interesting, dont expect any huge reveals about connections until Secret Wars anyway. Howard Stark variant? Chronologically makes more sense than a Tony variant.

The "stolen lives" thing is just stuck in my mind, obvs referring to their abuse of the timeline, but then even if we had a Howard / Tony variant why would it matter to him that they are abusing the timeline?

That feels like more of a Kang thing
