Biblical Faith is More Than Just "Believing"
John 3:36 KJB says:
“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
The Greek word translated “believeth not” is apeitheō (ἀπειθέω), which according to Strong's Concordance means "not believe, disobedient, obey not, unbelieving".
That matters.
Biblical faith is not merely saying, “I believe Jesus exists,” while refusing to submit to Him. Scripture repeatedly connects faith with obedience:
“And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.” — Hebrews 5:9 KJB
"But they have not all obeyed the gospel.” — Romans 10:16 KJB
We are saved by faith—not by earning salvation through works. But the faith Scripture speaks of is not a dead, empty acknowledgment. True faith receives Christ, trusts Christ, and submits to Christ.
Don't reduce “believe on Jesus” to mere mental agreement while ignoring what He commanded. The Bible doesn't.
True faith always produces the exact same fruit in all who have it and that is obedience unto God.
Without obedience it shows your faith is dead.
1 John 2:17 KJB "And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever."
