Physical contact

What confuses me the most is physical contact.
I asked someone out and she declined, we’re still on friendly terms.

The next day they ignore me.
The next I can talk to them like normal.

One day they’re feeling my arm as we talk.
Next day ignore.

One day they’re hugging me first.
The next day ignoring me.

Does this make sense?
