The most interesting city in Europe
is ofcourse Napoli. Sorry my post has no place or purpose here other than to express how much i love this city. My friends and family have at this point outcast me as a result of breaking their balls once more about napoli. It is the best city in the world in case you enjoy some of the following:
coffee
food
wine
sweets
music (any music)
the biggest and most important museum of ancient greek and roman statues/mosaics
residues of european cultures empires that left no trace elsewhere
people with a love for life
extremely weird religious practices bordering heretical
inexplicable burial places
mystifyingly long hand excavated tunnels
protochristian temples
lasagna of history in every fucking corner for several kilometers nonstop in the centre
bufala mozarella that you have to eat immediately with your dirty hands immediately after buying it from the cheese shop and while it drips on your new expensive costume
tomato that will make you cry in public and remember your childhood
baroque art landing off its feet and starting to spread and fly
a room with ancient roman jewelery and lighting devices, all in the shape of dildos
massive vases with ancient greek painting that is at least as technically good and beautiful as botticelli paintings
THE SEA
gelato from bufala milk or the top chocolate gelateria in the universe
locals from the next table that become your best friends in every trattoria
the best and most accurate painter of human skin (Ribera) and the most important religious picture of the 17th century (seven acts)
ancient frescos from the empire of the macedonians, nowhere else to be preserved as in the ipogeo dei cristalini
random churches that contain artworks of the most famous creators of the baroque but with no tourist in sight
fresh seafood that is laughably fresh and cheap
random baroque palazzos in unsuspecting streets
next to streets that are so backward that are so backward that could be straight from the 19th century slams, which are again next to the most luxurious palazzos that are again succeeded by the most poor street, each family of which has at least 3 sons of age 4 that enjoy riding together the newest fast scooter of the market.
Pizza Cafona with a flour straight from paradise
the most important majolica museum in the world
famous castles with underground tunnels running through the city in which second world war shelters can be visited next to the underground rivers that can be cannoed
Well these just are the obvious reasons and merely scratch the surface. Perhaps i will continue the list tomorrow.
