RE8 Discussion about Ethan’s Existence.

SPOILERS…obviously.

Okay, so we know that Ethan was killed in RE7 right at the beginning by Jack and the only reason he survived is because of the mold. Now like many posts I make, this may just be me being dumb, but I wanted to know whether or not people believed he was still truly **Ethan**. I’ll explain what I mean by that.

Ethan is made of the mold but do we believe that it almost preserved his body from rotting and became mold imitating human cells while also keeping his mind intact. Or did the **real** Ethan Winters truly die at the start of RE7 and the character we play as throughout most of 7 and all of 8 just an imitation with Ethan’s memories and personality?

Again, this may be really obvious and not the massive question I think it is. With Rose’s DLC I’ve always leaned more to the Ethan we spent the most time with being a moldy imitation of the real man. Would love to hear what everybody else believed or be roasted alive 🥲.
