I'm feeling disheartened

Shitpost

Not because I was wrong about the Loons winning the last couple of games, but because people keep bringing up the scores when I have already moved on to larger numbers.

Now I know what you're thinking: there aren't any numbers that use the letter A. You'd be right, but 'average' and 'laughable' have two. This is where the investigation became financial.

MNUFC brings in about $68 million in annual revenue. The MLS average is roughly $82 million. That's about 83%. MNUFC's franchise value is about 85% of the MLS average. The team's value and revenue have both gone up, yet compared with the rest of MLS, the Loon's value has gone down. So the numbers are increasing while simultaneously decreasing. That's a negative positive. You normally only see that in higher mathematics.

Then there are the owners. We have wealthy investors, but other MLS clubs have individual owners worth $15 billion, $20 billion, even $25 billion. And what does MNUFC do when it has less money than those teams? Spends less money. Which leaves it with less money. Which means it has to spend less money.

I've run this through several iterations and every time it produces the same result: less. At some point saving money starts producing negative savings. I believe economists call this compound subtraction.

I've projected it forward. Eventually we won't be able to afford anything, at which point we won't have to spend anything. That's a 100% savings. You don't arrive at a number that round by accident.
