Egg freezing, finalization surgery

Hi all,

I was diagnosed with stage pT1c3 endometrioid ovarian cancer in my right ovary on August 4th, 2026 and had my right ovary removed. I am now going through the egg retrieval and freezing process before I get my left ovary out. I have a very low remaining egg reserve and already did one egg retrieval cycle where they were only able to get one mature egg. I want to do one more cycle to get at least one or two more eggs in storage before I have my left ovary taken out, but I’m in a bit of a pickle because my insurance will only cover $5,000 per year. I can’t afford it without the insurance benefit so I’m highly considering delaying my finalization surgery until mid-January so I can do my second egg retrieval cycle the beginning of January. My surgery is currently scheduled for November 19th for context. Just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and what they did. I guess I’m just nervous about the risk of cancer spreading during that time, etc..
