Hi guys, so obviously I was hit about a month ago. It happened on private property and basically I was left to take care of everything myself. I’m saving for a new car, but honestly I want to take this situation and use it as an opportunity to learn more about cars and fixing stuff myself. I also love my 2004 Honda Accord tbh and the car still runs perfectly fine, so I’d like to try and fix it up instead of just giving up on it. So far I already ordered a new passenger side headlight assembly and I’m waiting for that to come in. I’m planning on getting a bumper and possibly a fender from a salvage/junk yard. My main concern right now is everything around the headlight area because, as you can see in the pictures, the old assembly is absolutely destroyed and there’s obviously some stuff around it that got damaged too. I know I can follow YouTube videos for replacing the headlight and bumper, but obviously those videos are going to show a normal intact car where everything lines up and clicks into place, and mine might not be that simple lol. So based on the pictures, what else do you guys notice that I’m going to need? Brackets, mounting points, liners, supports, wiring, clips, etc? Whatever I need I can probably grab from a salvage yard while I’m there. The hood is also misaligned and dented. I’m hoping the hood can just be realigned and maybe someone can get that dent out since it seems like a fairly accessible spot from underneath, but I’m having trouble finding someone locally who does that kind of work. I’m basically just looking for some wisdom and guidance from people who know more than I do about what I should check, what parts I should grab, and what order you would go about fixing all of this. I have basically no bodywork experience, but I’m willing to learn and I’m not expecting it to come out looking brand new. I just want to get everything secure, functional, lined up reasonably well, and learn something in the process. Anything helps and I’ll read all the comments!
