How to best see “down there”

This may sound stupid, but I don’t know what I’m looking at down there. I use a mirror, but I can’t see well underneath the public hair. Is everyone trimming/shaving so they can see better? Maybe it’s the lighting in my bathroom. I was diagnosed by my gynecologist and she told me where the white patches are and to put clob there, but I’m really struggling to see it in the mirror. Do I just put a thin cover of clob over a large area?
