What the hell happened to the Bounty Hunter Role?

TL;DR: I went broke buying useless things I didn’t need, thinking the BH Role would easily lift me from poverty. Only to find out it was apparently nerfed or something

I always loved engaging with the Bounty Hunter Role. Special Bounties that take multiple missions to fully complete, with a big reward when you get all the targets. Legendary Bounties which felt almost like mini story missions, each with their own unique setting a character. Even the little piddly 1-2 level bounties that were nothing extravagant, just riding over to a place and having a shootout before hogtying the man with a price on his head and riding on back to town.

I especially loved that it was not only fun, but also good money and gold if you did it right. I’m aware of the whole “wait until the last minute to turn them in” thing to get a larger reward, some people find this mechanic annoying but I actually kinda like it because it gives me and my friends a chance to just sit around and talk about nothing for a few minutes before getting back to the grind.

Needless to say, I didn’t pay attention to my currencies for the longest time because the thing I enjoyed doing most in the game was making me a lot of money, except apparently it wasn’t.

See, I made the mistake of buying all those crafting pamphlets from the fence. I figured I had a pretty disposable income so splurging on something I didn’t really need wasn’t a huge deal. So here I am, flat broke, not even a dollar to my name, so what do I do. Get back to grinding bounties of course, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it

Except apparently it was broke, because here I am trying to make my money back and I’m getting like, 40 bucks max for completing special bounties. Not to mention anything less than a level 3 bounty feels like it’s not even worth my time given it feels like I’m being paid a dollar a minute at most

So here I am, a proud bounty hunter who had brung countless wanted men in to face justice, looking at hanging up his gun belt and pick up an apron to start brewing moonshine since it’s triple rewards for the time being
