What are you unlearning about yourself?

I’ve been thinking a lot about what I’m unlearning lately. Not just the obvious... The deeper shit. Like the beliefs I picked up about who I was supposed to be. What it meant to be “good.” What I was supposed to tolerate. How much I should give. How much I should explain myself. What parts of me were “too much.”

I’m unlearning the idea that I have to make myself easier to understand for people who aren’t willing to understand me. I’m unlearning overexplaining.

I’m unlearning the need to prove that my feelings are valid before I allow myself to act on them. I’m unlearning the idea that growth means becoming somebody completely different, instead of getting closer to who I actually am.

And honestly, I’m still catching myself in some of these things. 😂 That’s the part nobody really opens up about... You can KNOW something intellectually and still catch yourself living from the old belief.

So I want to open this one up...

What are you unlearning right now?

Not what you should be unlearning. What are you actually noticing in yourself?

And what made you realize, “Damn… I don't even believe this anymore”?
