Do you think V-Rival/Sim Sim is way better than playing against regular CPU?
I’m in the Asian battle hub region and I saw a lot of high rank players hanging around this, so it got me curious sine it wasn’t just the newbies hanging around it. I tried using it myself today and surprisingly it’s not as input-reading as max level CPU is (although V-Rival does have its own fair share of input reading, but not as much), and it’s also not as dumb of a low/mid level CPU.
Feels really good to practice bnbs, punishes, etc. against V-Rival way more! The few times it DP anti air my jumps it makes me think “hm, maybe I should try a different tactic to get in” like I would in a real match.
I think it’s super interesting that Capcom is finally using machine learning to try and mimic real players’ behavior with all their faults as much as a machine can do. Always used to think this was a cool idea in my head when I was a child that’ll never happen and I can’f believe I grew up to see the day fighting games implement something like this, some good news that came out of the ML/AI bubble at least.
