Manchester City's cheating set Arsenal back a good 3/4 years and ruined players like Saka and Martinelli

We won the league last season, after we deserved to win it at least twice in the previous 4 years.

In the 2022/2023 season we were flying, and Saka and Martinelli were young, fresh and exciting players - scoring goals for fun, enjoying their football and playing with so much freedom - only for the cheating Manchester City to win the title, again.

And we should have won it again in 2023/2024, but were pipped to the title by 2 points, after again having an outstanding season.

In both of those seasons, a cheating Manchester City beat us to it.

After that, Arteta had to change his approach. He got obsessed with control, less expansive football and focused on winning football - understandably. Going toe to toe with Manchester City was just not going to win the league for us.

And because of that, Saka and Martinelli, our biggest prospect suffered.

Saka was played into the ground, because we had no-one else. Winning the title in 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 would have put us on the map, made us stronger in the transfer windows and we sign a decent backup for him. Instead, he was played week in week out.

We played expensive football in those seasons as well, where Martinelli flourished. But with Arteta having to resort to "control football" he was far less effective and suffered as a result. Last season showed it (1 goal in the Premier League all season) but he still scored loads of goals in the Champions League, where we were more expensive and open.

I can't stand Manchester City, those cheating cunts.

Thank God we won the league last season because we might not have won any PL titles under Arteta, given what he was up against with a massively doped up City.
