My dreams are weird according to people around me.
Hello!
Honestly I've been on the fence about posting anything online about this but my friends encouraged me to since they never heard dreams like mine. I am curious on everyone's thoughts on my dreams and would love to meet people who have similar dreams.
I dream nearly every night, and i remember the dreams when i wake up. If i don't think about the dream i will forget most details in a few days but if i actually do basically go over the dream I will remember them sometimes for years. This leads to me talking about them a lot with friends if the dreams have anything interesting. Until here it's all normal dream stuff.
I think I lucid dream? So I am aware of the fact that i am dreaming but I am kinda in a "observe" state. Kinda like Me the awake and conscious shares a brain with Dream Me. I can take over anytime but i realized if i am very active in a dream i wake up really tired. Dream me has the in dream world information and she will kinda do whatever i would do if i didnt know it was a dream. I don't communicate with Dream Me, if i try i just take over and she "deactivates" until i decide to pull back.
All of the "characters" in my dreams are aware that it is a dream. If Awake Me is not in control they will "go with the Scenerio" and just interact with me as intended in the plot of the dream. However if they realize Awake Me is in control they will just straight up chat with me. Some might urge me to wake up to "just get over with this", some will tell me to keep dreaming bcs they like that environment. Some might ask me about random stuff or my life. I have several "reoccurring" dreams that are mostly like TV show episodes where they follow a timeline. So for example one of the oldest one i have going is me in Highschool. It started before i was in highschool and nearly 6 years after graduating it is still going.
In the Highschool dream i am always "Awake/Lucid" and i have built friendships, did classic highschool activities, actually attended classes and basically i am living a second life in there. Everyone is aware that it is a dream but no one cares. Some of my friends there are curious about my life and drama happens a lot there lmao. I dream about that Highschool life every other month or so.
For nightmares, i unfortunately do have them. I am always Lucid in them but i can not wake myself up until i have either completed something or reached somewhere in the dream. The Nightmare "Villains" talk to me thru the nightmare usually stuff like "it's all your fault" and "you should've stopped it" A lot of blame, guilt and real life trauma related stuff. Most of them happen like games where I have an objective (like escaping from a huge mansion as a person chases me with murderous intend) that i can fail. Failure leads to death in the dream where i actually feel pain (or any other sensation really) if it's a painful one and then the nightmare basically restarts like a game. I get taunted for my failures a lot and they usually tell me I'll be asleep forever stuck there.
So yeah, this is how i dream. Also i never had problems waking up and as always nightmares or dreams will be intruppted if i get woken up by an external stimuli. I wonder if this is normal IG. From what I've read Lucid dreaming doesn't exactly work like this so i really don't know if this is just something normal or i should be seeing a therapist lmao.
TLDR; My dream characters are aware that they are in dreams, I am somewhat lucid in my dreams, my nightmares lock me in them despite being Lucid-ish in them, i can feel pain and every other sensation in my dreams, my Nightmare Villains taunt me and are very well aware that they are a dream and somehow i am to blame for everything.
