How did you know you have dyscalculia?

I'm currently in college for a degree in sustainability management, and I'm dreading that I will likely have to take college algebra and statistics... The algebra is more intimidating for sure. I got a 490 on the SAT after I studied my ass off, and that was the highest I got out of any practice attempts. I've always been bad at math, to the point I gave up trying in the HS courses, and only passed because of brainly 🥲 Math and anything numbers related just makes me feel so frustrated and my brain feels like its on fire and I avoid it any time I can. Anyways, I have a few questions regarding dyscalculia.

  1. How did you know you have it, and what were the signs?

  2. What accommodations can be made in terms of college math courses, such as alternative course options?

  3. How do you deal with the struggles that come with dyscalculia?

Thank you guys!!
