CBS (community Bible Study) a cult/ something off

I am wondering if anyone’s had a strange experience there. They were so pushy and sweet but almost robotic like. It felt like they were all reading from a script when interacting with them and made it extremely difficult for me to get my kid back out of childcare when he was crying. It feels like they were under the influence of a demonic spirit. I could be wrong. Curious what others experience is.
