[A4GM] Amateur Mecha! An RP Centered around mecha hobbyist who compete in various contests. Hopefully for something mechanically heavy and long term.

For the setting/plot, I've had an idea for an amateur mech setting. Rather than being tightly controlled by a government or military, the mechs are largely made by either professionals in a sports league or hobbyists. In the RP, I want to play a character who is entering the hobby circuit in his hometown. As per the kinks, this is a futuristic setting with humans who can pretty freely modify their bodies (both genetic and cybernetic), as well as aliens who live and work alongside humans in the galaxy. The hobby circuit will include these people as well. The RP will involve not just the actual sporting events (which include races, combat, and other contests) but also looking for parts and upgrades, training under coaches, and interacting with the public for support and sponsorships. The 'flow' of the RP can be roughly divided between this 'prep time' and the actual scheduled sports events. I would prefer something a bit more mechanically driven. Discord strongly preferred.
