Cannot take picture Sony DSC-WX300
I have a WX-300. I bought it new, obviously a long time ago! Obviously, phone cameras can do the same job now so it's been sat in a drawer since 2019 - last use. It's always been in a leather case which screws into the base. This case includes a lens cover. I cannot see any issues.
Going away soon and I'm trying to get back into photography so I thought I'd take it away with me and I can at least mess around with the settings a little bit and see what happens. Charged it up, turned it on. Tried to take a test shot (thankfully in hindsight), and nothing happens at all. I googled and it suggested half pressing to force into action but still, nothing. It doesn't even attempt to focus, go to macro automatically, nothing.
Everything else works. The lens moves when it turns on, shuts itself away if you are messing with the camera or are in the manual for instance, as I have been, trying to figure this out.
I am unable to connect to a pc/laptop but have tried initialisation a couple of times which I believe is a reset. Still nothing.
Is it a lost cause?
(Cannot seem to post images but no visible damage and in good cosmetic condition because of case.)
