Staying in your lane

Question for my seasoned roofing companies

How do you stay in your lane? I feel like a full blown GC now. Granite this would never have been possible if it weren’t for insurance claims. That’s how my skills are where they are today.

This year, like for many has been a slow year for roofing. I’ll end up doing $1M + in remodeling and windows likely. To be honest I hate remodeling. It’s really stressful. But it’s kept the lights on and allowed us to grow in a different direction. But to be honest that’s not even the direction I want to grow lol.

Just curious how some of you navigate expanding your scope and if you stay true to roofing only during the slow times
