should i keep going?

Advice Needed

hi, i hate to do this and post on reddit but i need advice badly. i have pretty severe OCD, and have dealt with ROCD a lot. in my current relationship, I (18F) am dating an amazing guy (18M)- he’s kind, never gets upset at me, is loving, and has good morals. We have been together about 9 months.

The issue is that we are long- distance, and have been for nearly 2 months now. I go to uni in another province, about a 1 hour flight or an 8 hour drive away from our hometown, where he attends uni. He is extremely busy. he’s studying pre med, a commuter student, and works nearly every day as well. i admire his hard work, but we dont get to talk as much as I wish we could. we text each other good morning, maybe exchange words once throughout the day, and then again before bed. he goes to sleep early.
recently, i’ve felt myself becoming distant and subconsciously pulling away, maybe as a means to see how much effort he puts in if i put in less. i feel bad for doing this, but i have seen that since i try less to stimulate conversation, our talks have gotten a lot more superficial. he never asks to call, and when i do call him, our talks aren’t stimulating and don’t flow well. it feels hard to talk. it makes me very sad. we’ve always been different in that way, i talk a lot and he is not a man of many words. but it feels more distinct online. he also doesn’t flirt much unless i initiate a flirty conversation, and it feels like that part of our relationship is very important to me and it’s lacking due to our separation.
i am thinking about breaking up next time we see each other. i feel bad about this, because i was the one who asked to do a long - distance relationship and he was hesitant at first. previously, the idea of breaking up was extremely anxiety inducing to me. it made me sick, i hated to think of it. i tried to deny any issues in our relationship. i was worried that I was doing the wrong thing by staying, and i “should” break up.
now, however, it feels like a switch has flipped. i feel like i’d be doing the wrong thing by breaking up with him, but it’s also what i want in a way. im worried that it’s some kind of compulsion, because i feel like it will relieve my anxiety and sadness about this relationship by setting me free from it.
it’s true that i feel unfulfilled. i’m not upset with my boyfriend at all, and i do love him so much, but i don’t think he can give me what i need. i want to be single and know myself better in my young age. but on the other hand, i love him so much, he’s the first guy to ever treat me right, and im terrified that i’ll regret it if i decide to leave him. i also can’t bear to hurt him.
can someone help me discern what’s my ocd and what isn’t? what should i do?? i’m afraid to make a mistake.

TLDR: i feel like i should break up with my boyfriend but i can’t tell if it’s a compulsion

also pls dont repost this to any reddit story podcasts.
