Question for (former) Starbucks Baristas!
Hello everyone! I was curious to know about the work experience for starbucks baristas, and if gaining starbucks experience has opened more doors for you in terms of jobs. my current goal right now is to get hired at starbucks because i’m looking to leave my current job as a line cook at a local cafe. though i genuinely really enjoy the job itself, my hours are decreasing and inconsistent and im looking for something a bit more secure. my team is also obsessed with gossiping and it can get mentally tiring. on top of that i’ve always envisioned myself as a barista and i’ve always thought it would suit me well. i’ve reached out to the DM via email about transitioning to FOH but got no response so i gave up. the benefits for sbux also sound really appealing especially as someone who cant work full time and cant afford health insurance atm. i’ve been through the interview process for starbucks several times but havent landed the job, but i just had another interview and i think they liked me because im currently waiting for my second interview later this week. a different location also reached out with the initial email questions so i responded to keep as many doors open as possible. if i get hired i’ve considered quitting on the spot so i can get 2 weeks off for breathing room as i transition into sbux, but my concern is if i do get hired, i might end up hating the job or getting burnt out, but Im curious if any former sbux baristas have had an easier time finding other barista / bartender / food service jobs with your experience? i know im getting a little ahead of myself but wanted to ask, any advice or insight is appreciated!
