Can we please rework the stim pistol?

I would gladly accept a homing dart in exchange for a fraction of the ammo economy. Seriously. I love to bring this thing and help teammates but I'm missing from 5 feet away. It feels like a wasted sidearm when I burn through 2 full reloads just to tag somebody.
