Is wanting a man to pay crazy?

So basically, I’ve gone on two dates with a guy who on both dates asked me to pay for my portion, which is fine. I don’t mind. But I’m definitely more used to guys offering to pay, especially when first courting. I feel more intentionally, pursued in a way when a man wants to pay and I guess on these two dates I didn’t feel that. I’m wondering if I’m in the wrong here and it’s completely normal to split every time. Or does this mean that he sees me more as a friend I don’t know we met on a dating app I’m 25f and he’s 27.
