Demisexuality and grief

Do you think being demisexual makes separation grief processes more painful or longer?

Eventhough I was deeply hurt by my expartner and I have pretty good periods of time in which I don't feel like missing him, I do have moments i which I feel that connection will not happen again and I grieve that. Does that has to do with my strong emotional atachment or is it normal?
