Kids + E-bikes

I guess I'm officially a cranky old person now, but Nanaimo needs to step up enforcement of the age limits on e-bikes and scooters.

So many of these kids don't know the rules of the road, or have any clue how risky their riding is. Speeding on sidewalks, no helmets, weaving through traffic.

In BC, you have to be 14 to ride a light e-bike and 16 for anything faster or an e-scooter. Right now it's basically kids on motorized vehicles with no training, no licence, and little oversight. Someone is going to get seriously hurt (or already has).

Parents, please check what your kids are riding and where. And if you're a driver, watch for them at intersections.
