Help, I'm a freshman in college and I need advice
I just started first semester as a Biology major, and im torn about going into biotech or switching to pursue engineering. I'd love to pursue biotech and work in genetics and genetic modification, but I'm really drawn to math, physics, and hardware modeling as well. There really isn't much options for me in terms of math or physics because I had all of my requirements completed out of highschool so I didn't need to take any of those classes, and unless I'm majoring in engineering I'm limited on the amount of engineering specific classes I can take. I'm really torn between the two and I've spent so much time trying to find a degree(s) path that can combine all of my interests and have a practical usage once I look for jobs. Another factor is money and oppertunities with just a BS. I've heard that biotech salaries aren't really that great and you need a PHD(which is another couple of years) to really break into a good salary and job growth, vs engineering you have good salary and growth options right out of school. I'm not "money hungry" meaning I'm not looking to do things only for the money, but I just want to be able to live a comfortable life, not struggle with making ends meets or being able to raise a family, and just lagging behind my peers. Please offer any advice you have, and thank you
