My temporary cheap replacement Flute just broke, advice on where to buy a new one?
So, I’ve been playing the flute for about 8/9 years now. I started out on a nice beginners flute but couldn’t afford to keep renting it,so for the past 3 years I’ve been making do with a cheap, halfway to awful, less than $100 flute, and of course, the thing broke this weekend. I’m not really looking to fix it since it’s so cheap the cost of repair would be worth more than the heap of scrap itself, but I can’t really afford to get a $1,000 intermediate flute if I want to be able to eat this month (or next), and I don’t want to waste money on another poor-quality one. Does anyone know what I could do to get me a nicer flute that won’t break the bank? I want to be able to go to college with my music but this rate, without an at least half-decent instrument I’m hopeless.
