How to help reduce mommy preference?

As title…

I understand that mommy preference is very much an almost universal thing in the infant stage. But holy heck I am at the end of my tether. Is there anything I can do to help my 12 month old be more comfortable and happy with daddy? He tries SO hard and loves her SO much but she just screams and reaches for me and cries when I leave the room. When I am at work and it’s his turn to be at home with her, she apparently is quite sooky all day, but when I’m home with her she’s generally a happy kid. I assume it just eventually passes… but I’m so tired of being the default and she only EVER wants me. Dad is also feeling a bit dejected about it
