I know this L@L version was posted here before, but a friend of mine said I should post it to tell a story about me and this tune.

I grew up in the San Francisco area. I started high school in the Psychedelic era of 1967.
We lived across the street from my High School.
My school had a rule that if you smoked cigarettes, you had to be a block away from the school.
My home fell a block away, where all the kids would smoke. The Dean and a Piggy cop drove around the neighborhood in the morning before school and at lunchtime, looking for trouble.

For myself, I'd go home at lunchtime for 45 minutes. Sometimes with friends. And I'd put something on my parents' stereo. Front door open and screen door locked. And then, we'd go out back and first, smoke a joint, eat, or whatever.

The Dean and Piggy never knew.

In June, 1970, I bought this album with some of my birthday money.
I played it a lot throughout the summer.
Back to school in Sept. I told some friends to come over at lunchtime when they heard me blasting out a certain song. (Most neighbors were never home during the day. Working Class Heroes!)
My choice was this version of "My Generation".

So we see the Dean and Piggy go past way down the block. I put this on, and about 15 kids across the street run over and pour into my house.
Party!! But a short party of about 30 minutes, and they had to keep the noise of talking way down. It worked out well.

I did that many times during my Senior year in 1970. And it was only when they heard this version of "My Generation".
They named my house after my street name.
The Fernwood Fillmore. LOL!

We had it together...
The Dean and Piggy never knew.

Ma Ma Ma MY GENERATION!
