Controversial topic: Brazilian who likes Asians
i know this is gonna ruffle many feathers, but i thought i’d bring my thoughts AND feelings into the conversation. i’m considered white in my home country, though i’m a latino in the rest of the world. i’ve grown up as a white person (because i wasn’t seen through the rest of the world’s eyes), so that’s how i present myself. that’s not out of vanity, or because it’s “easier to be white”, it’s just the honest truth in my own country. i’m also very light-skinned and i was blonde growing up (my hair color has changed since).
i started liking k-pop almost..10 years ago? it progressed to BLs, asian dramas and music from different asian countries. i started liking asian men. i still had and have plenty relationships with guys from different ethnicities. but something changed. i became ingrained into many asian cultures. i started eating more at thai, japanese, chinese restaurants. i was curious to find out more about the culture. (by the way, i have only had a relationship of any kind with an asian man once, the rest has always been random)
history in brazil is VERY europe-centric. some might say white-man-centric. so now i find myself in honest doubt: is going after asian men wrong? is it just fetish? o feel really bad liking asian guys, even though i don’t actively persue them
