Best travel card for flights if I already have the discontinued Savor?
I’m looking for a card to use as I start traveling more. I have a New York trip coming up and expect to fly at least once a year. I’ve heard good things about pairing the Capital One Venture X with my grandfathered Savor, but I’m open to other options. I’d like to hear what makes sense for someone who hasn’t used travel points much before.
Current cards:
Capital One Savor — grandfathered $95 annual fee version with 4% back on dining
Citi Double Cash
Apple Card
Chase Ink Business Unlimited
Amex Blue Business Cash
The first three are my personal cards. I also have the two business cards listed above.
Cards I’m considering: Venture X, particularly because I already have Savor
Category spending or general spending: Open to either
Would the Venture X and Savor combination make sense for my amount of travel, or would another card be a better fit? I’m especially interested in how easy the points are to use for flights, whether the annual fee is worthwhile, and whether I’d need to book through a travel portal to get good value.
