Letter to the old us.

Sad Love

Hey, it's been a long time. A few years since I last saw you. And yet, you still look as beautiful as the day I lost you.

I’ve replayed so many of our moments in my mind, like they still have a pulse. Like the air still remembers us.

I remember one night in particular: I slept on the couch at our friends’ house… tired, quiet, trying to be okay with “not the same bed.” And then she came, soft and careful, like she didn’t want to disturb anything sacred. She curled up next to me anyway. She told me she didn’t want to sleep in the same bed, but somehow, that night still became ours. The distance in her words didn’t match the closeness in her heart.

And I remember how brave I was without even meaning to be. I whispered “I love you” to her when I thought she was asleep, like a secret only the night could hold. I said it low, like the truth wouldn’t survive if it got too loud. Then I woke up and it was morning light and silence that answered me… because she turned to me and said, “I love you too.” Like she’d been waiting for me to admit it. Like I hadn’t been the only one keeping that feeling alive.

Not only that day, those months, those weeks, those years we spent together… all of it was so beautiful. I hope you know I never truly let you go. Not even for a moment. You’ve always lived in my heart.

There’s been a deep ache inside me, a quiet pit that never stops calling your name. And I wanted you to know this: you are the love of my life. You’re the reason I woke up and found the breath to keep going.

If you don’t want a single thing to do with me, that’s okay. I’ll always support you from afar, with love that doesn’t demand anything in return. I know you’ll become everything you ever wanted, miss ceo.

Haha. I love you a lot. Even now.
