"I...uh...have to talk to you about something." K…Charlotte said though her tone made it clear she still wasn't used to talking to him.
Corkindale sat knees-crisscrossed on the greenish blue bleachers that sat just next to Walker's Point Highschool. It was after hours but some burly machine was scouring the field for any and all leaves that had been spread across it.
The young man operating either did not see them or did not care. If he didn't guess they were related than perhaps he’d think Corkindale was selling drugs.
Hopefully he didn’t care enough to be delt with.
“What is ‘Something?’” He asked calmly
“Just…Look.” She said pulling out a black and scarlet rectangle. He'd noticed an uptick in these particular gadgets in the current decades. They used to let out a bright flash like cameras back in the Nineteen-Thirties Or was it the Twenties? But with this generation they could capture an image in almost any lighting with little to no convenient static.
Charlotte tapped a series of buttons and something caught Corkindale’s attention.
“What on earth is,” he squinted “…Baby Heist?"
Apparently it was her brother's 'Joe's' initial pitch for their own website. The idea was it could give them a chance to be "officially” hired for the sake of freelancing. It could also look good on a future résumé as a frame of reference.
The only concern was that he’d only bothered to write about himself thus far.
“Irrelevant.” She Deadpanned looking away.
“And they said I was evasive.” Corkindale muttered.
He seemed to pay more attention when the banner for a specific page came up. The title of the channel only consisted of two words;
The Weirdness.
