Hi all, I'm u/fraser_altimate and I'm one of the founding moderators here.

What Altimate is

Altimate AI builds tools for data engineers:

• altimate-code: an open-source CLI agent for data engineering work, like writing and fixing dbt models, tracing lineage, and debugging SQL.
• Power User for dbt: the VS Code extension for dbt development.
• Altimate Lite: a Snowflake Native App that finds warehouse cost savings.
• Altimate for Databricks: automate the optimization of your Databricks workspace

This sub is for people who use these tools, or are trying to decide whether to.

What to post

• Questions about setup, config, or odd behavior
• Workflows you've built with altimate-code or dbt Power User
• Prompts, configs, or scripts that work well for you
• Feature requests and feedback, including critical feedback
• Comparisons with other tools, if you've used them
• General dbt, Snowflake, or Databricks questions where the tooling is part of the problem

For confirmed bugs, please also open a GitHub issue so engineering can track it, and link it here.

Ground rules

• Be helpful and specific. Include versions, warehouse, and error text when asking for help.
• No spam or unrelated self-promotion.
• Altimate employees will have a flair so you know who you're talking to.

How to get started

1. Introduce yourself in the comments: what you work on and which stack you use.
2. Post a question or a workflow. Short posts are fine.
3. If you know someone who'd find this useful, send them the link.
