Starting a snack brand with ₹20k. How would you validate demand before buying inventory?
Hey everyone!
I'm working on launching a small snack brand in India with a starting budget of ₹20,000.
We're considering two products: Corn Dots (30g at ₹30) and Beetroot Chips (50g at ₹50).
My plan is to test demand online before investing in inventory. I'm considering Instagram content, a simple waitlist and small-scale taste testing.
For anyone who's launched an FMCG or food brand:
- How did you validate actual buying interest before production?
- Would you prioritise paid preorders, sampling or a waitlist?
- What's the biggest mistake I should avoid with such a small budget?
I'd appreciate practical advice, especially from people who've launched physical products in India.
