My boyfriend excluded me from a trip for the second time despite knowing how much it hurt me the first time.

Long Distance

My boyfriend and I have been in a long-distance relationship for 2.5 years. The relationship wasn’t very good from the beginning because he hadn’t moved on from his ex. But gradually, things got a little better. Still, there were many times when I felt like I was a low priority. For example, when he said he forgot to call me for like two days and things like that. Eventually, though, he worked on himself and improved, and he even told me that he loves me a lot.

Then last year, he and his college friends planned a trip to Goa. Two of my boyfriend’s friends were going with their girlfriends. One couple eventually cancelled, but one of the other guy’s girlfriends was still going. I had become friends with one of my boyfriend’s friends, Karan, through Instagram, and my boyfriend, Karan, and I used to play online games together.

Karan invited me to the Goa trip, and he did so about two months in advance. But I didn’t tell my boyfriend about it because my boyfriend hadn’t asked me whether I wanted to come. Time passed, the trip was only two weeks away, and I finally confronted my boyfriend about why he still hadn’t asked me.

He panicked a little and then said that he had forgotten and that he thought I wouldn’t be able to come anyway, etc. But I felt really bad hearing all of this because it made me feel like I hadn’t even crossed his mind. Meanwhile, a relatively new friend had thought of inviting me and had invited me three or four times.

When I told Karan about what had happened, he started talking to me rudely and said that I was overreacting and things like that. Eventually, my friendship with Karan also ended.

My boyfriend and I fought about this issue, but eventually things between us became somewhat normal again.

Now, a few days ago, my boyfriend told me that they were planning another trip with the same group of people. But once again, he didn’t invite me.

Today, I asked him about it, and he said that he thought I didn’t like Karan and the others anymore, and because of everything that happened last year, he thought I wouldn’t feel good about going, so he didn’t invite me.

I felt really hurt because I had explained to him multiple times that being excluded from trips like these makes me feel unimportant and creates a lot of doubts in my mind. Despite knowing this, he did the exact same thing again.
