Can taker civilization lead to spiritual corruption?

I’ve been thinking about this recently a lot, and it honestly kinda bums me out. According to Quinn, humans have effectively removed themselves from the laws of nature; and in doing so our population has grown out of balance and we have done significant damage to the earth and the ecosystem.

But on top of that we have been moving further and further away from human nature. We live in crowded cities but hardly know anyone. We hardly spend any time outside unless we are in our cars, but we drown out our senses with music and distraction while driving. We stare at a screen for large periods of the day because we can’t stand being bored. Modern life isn’t fulfilling spiritually so we numb ourselves with technology and substances of any kind.

It’s like we’re infected with this sickness that forces us to keep improving technology that is actually destroying our spirit and/or our humanity. I know this is dramatic but it feels kinda true to me.

But the saddest thing is that we have removed ourselves from our source. We came from the earth, we’re made from elements from the earth, we go back into the earth when we die. Like it’s so clear that our source is the earth but we’re so lost that we cling to religion and space exploration or technology/ AI as our hope for humanity. I think even in the Bible it says Adam was made from dust and spirit was breathed into him.

Sorry if this is incoherent gibberish but I just wanted to vent a little bit 😊🧡
