Is it a good idea to do internal transfers to another role within the company?

As stated in the title, anyone done an internal transfer to another role in the company before? I am quite new to the workforce and decided this role might not be for me even though i am doing well. Did not quite enjoy it and thinking of switching to another role within the company.

However, i am afraid that the Hr and my bosses might know that i am trying to switch roles and think that i do not want to work as my role already. I am planning to leave by end of this year anyways so in the event of me failing to transition, i do not think it will hurt that much. But i will definitely like to know what the outcomes are to those who did the transition internally. Are there negatives to it? Especially past colleagues being unhappy etc about it.
