The lonely moon
A lonely moon, with lonely heart Hanging over hill. Basking everyone with light But she is lonely still. She watches them from perch afar As they end their days As they live their busy lives in oh so many ways She’s seen lovers there embracing, She’s seen tears as they fight, She’s seen the joy in children’s eyes’ wishing on starlight. She’s seen countless new beginnings, She’s seen heartfelt bitter ends, She’s seen all of these things alone wishing desperately for friends. But how could anyone know how lonely tis above She’s surround by stars they said, surely, she knows love? And she does her job nightly, shining bright for us to share, She’s got her glow, how could we know, why would we even care? How could they know indeed By Jove they got it right Constantly there, why would they care, she always shares her light. She shares her light, through sadness, and thought that you should know, Somethings that shine are broken, even though they glow.
