Hi all, long story short I had my second Bub 9 days ago by planned c section. I was really happy that she was latching and seemed to be transferring colostrum and I was able to actually collect multiple cups full on day 2-3 (my first daughter received next to none and even even the lactation consultants tried to express, I would get one or two drops max). I was so excited because I thought this feeding journey might be different to my first! Then the exact same severe engorgement that happened with my first hit me day 4ish. Each breast blew up to 3-4x my babies head and I’ve never experienced so much pain. I had to sleep upright because the weight would feel like I was being crushed. Anyway, all the nurses and lactation consultants were freaking out because hand expressing wasn’t working, baby couldn’t latch even with reverse pressure and there was no give in the tissue. Left with no other choice but to ice and rest them. It’s taken 3 days to get to a point I could attempt a latch but the bottle has already destroyed it and my nipples just bleed. I’m trying to hand express and use the Medela manual pump but both nipples are bone dry. Today my breasts feel almost back to normal so I’m worried that my body has dried up whatever milk I had. Do I just keep trying to pump even though I’m not getting a single drop? Latching is agonising so I really don’t want to keep latching if nothing will come out anyway.

Has anyone had this experience and been able to get any supply back? My first feeding journey was almost identical and after 8 weeks of Motilium, pumping and attempts at breast, my supply stopped and my period returned. Could it be that my breasts just don’t work? 😭
