Having issues with Matic going up ramps

Hi everybody,
I recently bought a Matic, and I’m having an issue with the baby gates in my apartment. We have gates at the entrances to the kitchen and bedrooms, and the bottom of each gate creates about a 2-inch threshold.

Having to constantly pick up the Matic and move it into each room is pretty annoying, so I tried 3D printing ramps to help it get over the thresholds.
The strange part is that when Matic approaches the ramp on its own, sometimes forward and sometimes backward, it barely attempts to climb it before giving up. However, if I take manual control through the app and drive it over the exact same ramp, it goes over very easily.
Has anyone dealt with something similar? Is there a way to get Matic to recognize that it can safely cross the ramp instead of immediately giving up?
