I am 17 years old and have never done my own laundry
I am 17, and have never done my own laundry. to be completely honest, I don’t know how. My parents have encouraged me to learn, but I kind of just assume I’ll figure it out when I get to college. My sisters (one twin, one older) both do their own laundry and have for years. My parents do mine. But now, it may cost me a friendship. My close friend, (17F) lent me her brothers shirt to wear for a school themed event (we go to different schools) and asked me to wash it and bring it back. A few days after the event she texts me asking for the shirt, I say it hasn’t been washed yet. She asked if I could start a load for it, or just bring it to her dirty. I didn’t want to do that, as it felt like she wouldn’t think highly of me. But my parents weren’t home so I couldn’t have them start a load. so I told her my sisters clothes were in the wash but I’d start her brothers shirt next. She ended up stopping by later that day and noticed there was no sound from the washing machine. She asked if my sisters clothes were done, and if I could start the shirt. I didn’t know what go say or how to admit I literally couldn’t. So I just said some bs about how she’s not home to move them and I don’t know what needs hung up or dried. I feel stupid and like I should have this skill by now.
