This sucks so bad... After kissing so many frogs and going through so much shit on the apps I thought I had finally found a man who I could relate on a personal, emotional and sexual level. We've been going out for almost a month and yesterday our dogs finally met.

He has a very fancy breed dog who has been like his child, he takes him on adventures and to work and does everything with him, I have a small Chihuahua mix from the shelter who basically spends a lot of time alone at home, he has gone out on adventures with me but I don't have friends in this city and he hasn't been able to meet other dogs and he is very shy when we go to the dog park and usually prefers to be held in my arms when other dogs get too close.

So last night our dogs finally met. I brought mine over so I could spend the night with this man and can stay longer at his place in the morning as I wouldn't have to leave early to take my doggy out

My dog was not in his best behavior at some point he was growling and not letting the other one come close. The other doggy is a shepherd kind so he kept getting super close and into my Chihuahua's personal space.

Today my romantic interest texted me that he doesn't like when dogs treat his dog poorly, that his dog was making an effort to play and be friendly and was getting my dog to be aggressive towards him and this man feels hurt about that. He doesn't know if we can continue seeing each other due to this behavior, and it really breaks my heart.

I said I would work on my dogs social skills and that we can develop a plan for them to start getting closer and hopefully be able to be in each other's space in peace.

He said he would think about it, but I know he's broken up with girls before because of no compatibility with his dog...

I wonder if I should hang on to hoping that we can solve this, if it's worth the effort or if this is an overreaction from his part?

Food is squirrel food raisins and walnuts 🐿️

His dog is better socialized so he might end it with me
