Been on my period for 50 days, partner is getting frustrated

Hormone-Related Issues

I’ve(23f) been on my period for 50 days, i’ve gone to the gyno and discussed it all and I’m currently following a plan to treat it and see if it stops. However, It’s been really uncomfortable for me and i’ve been struggling with the constant cramps and bloating and just overall uncomfortable symptoms. My stimulant is working at half strength bc i’ve been bleeding for so long and I’m struggling to do basic stuff.

My bf (23m) has been supportive and understanding but recently this past week he’s been trying to initiate intimacy. I feel so gross and uncomfortable and do not want to be touched or intimate at all. I just feel severely insecure about my body and out of practice with intimacy. He tried making out with me last night and i just froze and tried to keep the kissing to light kisses and go to bed. He was persistent in trying to get us to make out but i just feel so insecure and gross. I have felt so guilty about being on my period for so long and not being able to be intimate with him. I’m scared he’s frustrated with me because i wouldn’t even make out with him. I tried reassurance and that it’s not him. Now he’s being short with me and i feel like i’ve really hurt his feelings and he’s not understanding my point of view and i don’t know what to do.

I feel so guilty for not being mentally or physically available for intimacy and like our relationship is becoming roommates moreso than partners. I never wanted to bleed for 50 days, or be so uncomfortable or have my meds not work properly bc i’ve been on my period. I’m trying to just keep myself afloat and i don’t know how to tell him i’m doing my best and that i’m sorry. I feel like a failure for being basically incapacitated for so long, I’m embarrassed that im struggling without looking visibly like I’m struggling. If that makes sense. Like I look fine but my entire body is on fire and my brain is on vacation half the time. I am feeling so frustrated and tired. Adhd sucks.
