Been playing around trying to make a token based play style work. I haven’t undertaken vigorous testing, but the deck has felt better than I anticipated in test matches so far.

I’m still working out the ratios of the cards. I’m particularly worried about how many pilots I have, and how few generic links my units have. The good thing I guess is that the large number of pilots does allow me to be pretty liberal with pairing and linking in the early game, allowing me to build pressure. Elpeo in particular can really punch through a lot of early game units while breaching shields, especially if she’s paired with the Balient, since it’s chunky 4 Hp generally allows her to survive her first combat. Things get even crazier if there’s a token, since an Elpeo paired Balient can become a 5/4 menace on turn 3.

I’m a Newtype has been a surprisingly useful card in early testing. I was convinced it’d be the first thing I cut, but a 1 resource token generator can be surprisingly clutch in enabling the deck’s strategy. Being able to link with Red Gundam in a pinch is also useful. Inversely, I’ve only occasionally been able to get value out of Grace Under Pressure. The flexi of choosing either a HM or breach token is neat, but it’s just too expensive to reliably use when it’s competing for resources with high level units. It does feel incredible however when you do manage to get a hit with the Calibarn or Rebuild token before activating Green Qubeley’s ability to allow a second attack with that same token.
