Navigating family dynamics when not everyone believes.

Personal Advice

My mom is the only person in our family somewhat active. Or at least she’s trying. My dad stopped going a couple of years ago after some affair related event and it totally broke our family. My sibling and I remained active despite it all for years but now we’re both not really believers. We go occasionally but not really agree on everything the church teaches. My mom ranted yesterday to me how lonely she feels now at church and how that makes her not want to go. I, of course feel bad but I also know it’s not up to me whoever she goes or not. Even if my sibling and I were believers like before we still attended a different ward than her. I feel for her but I also felt she was guilt tripping me a bit lol. And I guess now that i recently got married she thinks I need the church. I do believe in God and Jesus Christ and that will never change but again I’m not sure if I want to raise my kids in the church.

How to navigate these changes? The church was a big deal for us back when we were growing up but I also don’t want to feel pressured. I can attend occasionally but how can I talk to her? She has a very all or nothing mentality so sometimes it’s hard to feel like our conversation is going anywhere. I feel for her but I need to believe for myself.
