Paying question

I just got my first boyfriend at 22F, and I’m wondering if I’m overthinking something.
Because of the way I was raised in a cultural family, we’ve always been pretty particular about splitting or fighting over the bill and stuff like that. I’m very used to being independent, so I usually offer to pay and honestly end up paying most of the time. The idea of someone paying for me has always bothered me a little, although I’m slowly getting used to it.

My question is, could he be taking advantage of the fact that I’m so used to paying, or am I just overthinking this because it’s my first relationship?

How do you normally handle things like this in a relationship?
