Is Kissing the Same Sex Cheating?
My gf and I were talking, and somehow we got on the topic of her kissing girls. She said she’s not attracted to women per se, but isn’t opposed to kissing them.
I don’t care what her sexuality is, but I expressed that I believed if she kissed another woman it would be cheating. She said it’s not cheating because she’s not attracted to women. I told her I understood that, and I I said I believe there’s a difference between a quick kiss with your female friends and kissing them. Even if you’re not same sex attracted, I feel like a serious kiss is still inappropriate in a monogamous relationship.
She just kind of brushed it off, and we moved to a different topic. I don’t have any concerns about her cheating on me with anyone, but I’m just curious on if I’m looking at it the wrong way.
I feel like there’s just a double standard there. If I kissed a guy, I feel like she (or any woman for that matter) would be upset. Not that I have a desire to, but I don’t see how she wouldn’t find an issue with that. Or if I kissed a woman and said, “Well I’m not actually attracted to her,” that would obviously be an issue. I’m not hung up on the gender of who she’s kissing, to me it’s just the principle.
What do you all think? Is she right, it’s not cheating?Or am I valid in my concerns about how she views i?
