What's the visual accessibility of the Very Large Array?

Wife and I are spending a few days in Santa Fe, NM, and I'm trying to figure a itinerary that lets me see the VLA where it is, then to a relative in Albuquerque and back to SF and leave the next day. Getting expected pushback from wife. If all we (I'm) going to see is a single dish on the rails with all the other dishes far away with no permissions to move around a little bit I might just as well look at an image of said dish online. Is it worth it to make the trip to the Array a major point in the bigger trip? Thx
